Wyoming ProStart
future leaders.

A two-year, in school program in culinary arts and restaurant management - built by industry, certified nationally, supported statewide by WHTCEF.

· WHAT IS PROSTART ·

What ProStart is.

ProStart is a nationwide high school program developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. In Wyoming, it's coordinated by WHTCEF. Students earn industry certifications, learn from working chefs and hospitality professionals, and graduate ready to step into kitchens, hotels, and management roles — or into culinary schools and hospitality degree programs.

The curriculum spans two years and blends classroom learning with paid mentored work experiences, capstone projects, and the option to compete in the Wyoming ProStart Invitational each spring.

National Curriculum

Built by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation, used in 1,800+ U.S. high schools.

Wyoming Coordination

WHTCEF runs teacher trainings, the state invitational, scholarships, and curriculum support. 

College Credit & Certifications

Students earn the ProStart Certificate of Achievement, recognized at culinary schools nationwide. 

Every spring, the best of Wyoming ProStart competes.

Four categories. 150+ students. $2,000,000+ in scholarships and awards.
